Not "Giving Baby Up for Adoption," Giving Them a Better Life
Birth Mother Stories
Below are just a few of the many wonderful stories that birth mothers have written about their experiences with St. Mary’s and the support that the agency provided. As you'll see these women weren't "giving their baby up for adoption," they were giving them a better life.
Sheri's Story:
At the age of sixteen, a junior in high school, I found myself pregnant. Knowing other girls in school who were pregnant before I was, I would have never dreamed that something like that would happen to me. Scared, terrified, and nervous are just some of the feelings I was going through at first. My head was spinning and I did not know where to begin or what to do. I knew right there my life would forever be changed, but I didn’t know how just yet.
Meg's Story:
I found out I was pregnant in December 2006. I did not know what I had gotten myself into at that point. All I remember is I was scared and didn’t know where to turn.
Miranne's Story:
I came to St. Mary's 14 years ago when I was pregnant, knowing full well that I was not ready to be a mom just yet. I thought about the pros and cons of adoption, but I knew that I was ready.
