Domestic Adoption

The Episcopal Sisters of St. Mary founded St. Mary’s Services on the belief that every child deserves a good home. The staff at St. Mary’s has followed this philosophy for more than a century. In order to provide children with loving homes, we take great pride in working closely with our adoptive families to ensure that you receive the proper preparation, guidance, and support to build your family through adoption. Your expectations and the needs of our birth parents are mutually respected.

St. Mary’s offers adoption services to families looking to adopt newborns within Illinois. In addition, we also work with individuals and couples who are working with a nationwide adoption agency or a private attorney (commonly referred to as “interstate adoption”) who must obtain an Illinois home study. Couples or individuals working with St. Mary’s receive preparation and counseling services including general adoption education, home studies, placement and post-placement services with support. St. Mary’s places newborns of every race and ethnic origin. Occasionally we place children that may need medical intervention.

“Our quest for parenthood had been difficult and disappointing. Through their patient guidance and empathetic understanding, the staff of St. Mary’s enabled us to fulfill our dream, and we are now the mom and dad of two wonderful boys.”

– Donna and Mark, St. Mary’s Adoptive Family
