Chris: Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with minors in Psychology and Communication, and a Master’s of Science in Adult and Higher Education, both from Northern Illinois University. Jennifer: Bachelor of Science in Biology from Trinity International University and a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology from Northern Illinois University.
Chris: Social Studies teacher at Grayslake North High School for 14 years. Before that, he worked in the Admissions and Orientation offices at Northern Illinois University and Trinity International University.
Jennifer: Scientist at Abbott Laboratories and the University of Chicago for ten years.
Length of marriage:
We own a home in the northern suburbs and have lived there for 10 years. We live in a safe, diverse neighborhood and have good relationships with our neighbors. Our house has 3 bedrooms and 2 baths, with a basement and fenced-in yard.

1 (Caleb, 18 months, also adopted through St. Mary’s)
Two dogs – Riley, a 4-year-old hound/terrier rescue, and Joey, a 14-year-old rat terrier

Both of us are adopted and are successful adopted parents, and we want to bless a child in the way that we have been blessed by our adoptive families and through our son’s adoption.
